Route

  • 10.15 – Meeting of participants at the Tanca Manna Tourist Pier in Stintino
  • 10.30 – Departure with the boat Ausonia
  • 11.00 – Arrival at Fornelli pier, located in the southern part of the island, and transfer of the group on the Wheeled train with the Park’s exclusive geo-marine environmental guides, to discover the island, the human traces and history, the delicate balance of the marine world with its organisms, wild animals and their traces. You will cover 25 km of cemented road towards Cala D’Oliva and back. Along the way you will make stops in the most important places of the island from a historical and naturalistic point of view. Stop outside the Maximum Security Prison in Fornelli; the interior can no longer be visited since 2017.
  • 11.15 – Panoramic viewpoint of Cala Sant’Andrea, a total protected marine area, forbidden to visitors due to its significant naturalistic interest.
  • 11.45 – Punta Sa Nave, western coast of remarkable importance for the presence of the paleoendemism Centaurea Horrida.
  • 12.15 – Austro Ungarico Ossuary, stop for swimming (optional) and external visit of the structure.
  • 13.15 – Stop at Campu Perdu, with its characteristic white and grey donkeys and horses.
  • 13.30 – Arrival to Cala Reale and visit to the external ruins of the former Maritime Sanitary Station. Lunch break at your own expense.
  • 14.30 – Departure to Cala D’Oliva
  • 15.00 – Arrival to Cala D’Oliva, crossing of the uninhabited village and visit of the Former Central Branch (former prison), nowadays Memory Observatory.
  • 16.00 – Transfer to Fornelli
  • 18.00 – Return to Stintino

During the tour you will have the opportunity to get some extras, which may  include tickets for visits to animal recovery centers, observatories, food and drinks.

In order to spend a pleasant day, without any problems, we recommend that you bring your own medicines with you in case you need first medical care during the tour.

For our tours we advise you to dress in layers, so that you can comfortably cover up and loosen clothing according to your perceptions of heat and coolness.

In order to respect the environment, we do not use plastic bottles; we prefer recycled materials that help protect the environment where we live.
